Why not "what will be the weather this afternoon?" The words are available

Just wonder why translation doesn't refer to "yma" here? "what will the weather be like here this afternoon" Why use it otherwise?

Yma is being used as part of the phrase "y prynhawn yma", meaning "this afternoon."
