Why are there no speaking excercises for mobile devices?
Is it just a bug or is there a reason why there are no speaking excercises in the apps for Norwegian?
I really appreciate this kind of exercise an I would love to use it on my mobile devices (tablet/smartphone).
Does anyone know if there are plans to bring it to the apps?
As far as I know (from reading the forum), they are only available when using the Chrome browser. I certanly have never encountered them using Firefox.
I guess it s a technical matter.
Yeah I've never experienced any speaking exercises for Norwegian in either the app on an Android mobile or using my PC with Firefox, though there are speaking exercises for German with both the app & Firefox on a PC.
This was originally a long comment bemoaning the fact that there didn't seem to be any speaking exercises in the Norwegian course. It finally motivated me to give Chrome a proper try.
As Tattamin says above, it works! For the record, and for what it's worth, I used Chrome 44.0.2403.133 under Android 4.2.2 on an Archos 70 Xenon tablet. So I've shortened my comment to this.
I do get speaking exercises in the French-from-German course on the android app.
They work most of the time, but I have read quite a number of complaints where certain sentences were impossible to get accepted even by replying with a recording of the sentence as given by duolingo - or others where people could say anything and it would be marked as correct.
So it is not the most reliable of features even when/where it is available.
I get speaking exercises for the German course with both the app & Firefox on a PC, though I haven't had a problem with it accepting answers (unless there's background noise, than it has an extremely high reject rate).
