  5. "Sie wird seine Schülerin."

"Sie wird seine Schülerin."

Translation:She becomes his student.

January 23, 2013

die Schülerin is feminin, why is his student?

"His" is the translation of "seine"; the one who becomes a student/schoolgirl is feminine (sie), but she becomes the student of a male (seine). I hope that cleared it up a bit.

What would be the difference between "She will be his student" and "She will become his student", in this case?

I think "She will be his student" would be "Sie wird seine Schülerin sein." And "She will become his student" would be "Sie wird seine Schülerin werden." Someone please correct me if that's wrong.
