Dear contributors, sorry for being this impatient, but I just have to ask. :) Could we - impatient learners in love with your work and aware how this challenge is huge for you - get an update on the progress of works or an estimation of the beta release date?

I just hope so much to get the chance to get hands on the new tree before leaving to Sweden in August. :)

Tack så mycket!

Hello there. For the past months, work has been standing quite still. We don't know at all when it could be finished. My personal hope is that we can finish it in the summer and release it in the fall.

Even though this is the answer I feared, I thank you once more and wish you good luck!

Well, I did offer to help several months ago and I have a lot of spare time at present that I could have spent on contributing to the course but I was ignored, so...

Of course, I've only been learning for a year and I imagine that for the most part if you were looking for more people to help then you'd want natives. It's still a bit annoying to hear that nothing has been done for several months, though.

I get that you are all volunteers and appreciate that people have lives and generally not a great deal of time but still. :(

@sustained, I understand your frustration, but I don't think you would qualify as a course creator. Optimally you'd want native speakers of both the target and source language or at least a native Swedish speaker with fluent English. In addition to that, it helps to have some understanding of language teaching or even a background in linguistics.

I'm sure @Zmrzlina and the rest of the team are doing their best to move this course forward. Language teaching isn't easy and requires time.

Maybe not. I am a native English speaker, though and incidentally, I know that there are already some members of the team who are native English speakers but not native Swedish speakers. I am also very dedicated to my language studies as I am moving to Sweden and plan to live, study and work there.

If no work has been done for three months then I don't agree that they are doing their best to move the course forward. That said, I'm sure it will be great when it is finally released! I realise that it's not easy, I run a course on Memrise. I suppose that having too many non-natives on the team would just get in the way of progress, though.

Don't get me wrong, but that's great to hear. :) So there will be plenty of time to finish tree 1.0 first. :)

Sorry mate - I agree with the sentiment, but Swedish doesn't have that meaning of "Hear!" :)

I did check it in the dictionary before posting; is it wrong (definition 4 for 'hear, hear!')?

Or am I misunderstanding the entry, and the correct translation is 'instämmer'?

Yes, the dictionary says that the expression ”hear, hear!” translates to ”bravo!” or ”instämmer!”

Ah; I'm glad the dictionary is still reliable; the unreliability is all my own (I took 'bravo' to be English, even though it wasn't italicised).

Hi there, which dictionary do you use? It looks like a good one and I'd like to buy a Swedish-English one to help with my studies! Tack :)
