"This is a girl."
Translation:C'est une fille.
Is there any major difference between "This is a girl" and "She is a girl"? In English, we almost never say "This is a [boy/girl]" so could it be that English translation is a little off?
There is not so much difference between the two, but you are most likely to hear "C'est une fille" than "Elle est une fille".
In fact Elle est une XXX is not French, you have to say C'est une XXX.
