I don't even understand this in english :( But what are the chances of anyone ever saying this to me in Norwegian.

It's a famous Marxist saying. In a "perfect" society, each person gives what they're able to give and receives what they need to receive.

Karl Marx: In a higher phase of communist society, after the enslaving subordination of the individual to the division of labor, and therewith also the antithesis between mental and physical labor, has vanished; after labor has become not only a means of life but life's prime want; after the productive forces have also increased with the all-around development of the individual, and all the springs of co-operative wealth flow more abundantly—only then can the narrow horizon of bourgeois right be crossed in its entirety and society inscribe on its banners: From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs!

Capitalists in this forum butthurt about communism even though every 10 years per capita capitalism kills more than every form of Marxism has in its entire histroy, and capitalism is responsible for almost all of the largest global catastrophes and human rights abuses since the fifteenth century...

Some people in the comments here clearly have the wrong definition of communism. Governments like the USSR were authoritarian, not communist. A truly communiet country has never been fully implemented, the closest thing would have to be revolutionary France. Which was working out more or less fine until the capitalists returned.

I for one appreciate Duo including a sentence that might get some people to google an ideological statement and learn something new! Revolusjon!
