17) I've tested and valided the operation of all. :)

il y a 2 ans

https://www.duolingo.com/Ryuusuke

That sounds a bit strange.

First: 'Valid' is an adjective, 'to validate' is the verb. Adjectives don't have tenses, so you must use 'validate', the past tense is 'validated'.

Second: "operation of all" sounds awkard. You could flip it and say "all of the operations".

The sentence now comes out to be: "I've tested and validated all of the operations."

PS : Why "ve tested" and not just "tested" ?

il y a 2 ans

https://www.duolingo.com/Ryuusuke

It's not actually necessary. "I tested" and "I have tested" is the same. You can use whichever, though "I've tested" sounds a bit more phonetically appealing in my opinion. :)

Maybe :

"I have tested" = "j'ai testé"

And

"I tested" = "Je testais" and/or "J'ai testé" and/or "Je testa"

Don't you think ?

The french tense 'l'imparfait' and 'passé composé' can both translate to 'past simple' in Enlgish.

"I tested" is in the 'simple past' tense in English. Usually the verb in simple past tense is modified by an adverb of time. For example, "I tested this yesterday".

"I've tested" is actually english 'present perfect' and is an event that happened in the past that is related to an event presently happening. This tense doesn't need an adverb of time BUT there are some exceptions where it can be used. You can read more about it in the link at the bottom of this post. Apparently, this tense is not often used in American english but I feel it's usually interchangeable.

Additionally, there are some instances where the verb doesn't look the same in both tenses. Like for example "I ate too much" vs "I have eaten too much".

Another note, the auxilliary verb "have" in the 'present perfect' tense conjugates as follows, "I have tested", "He/She has tested", "They have tested"

As for "Je testa", I'm assuming you meant "Je testai" in 'passé simple'. The way 'passé simple' used in french i.e. in writing and not much or at all in spoken french doesn't translate to the same way past tenses are used in English. Arguably, all past tenses in english can be used in speaking as well in writing. Therefore 'passé simple' can be translated to 'simple past' or 'present perfect' depending on the context.

Sorry that it's really long but, I hope that helps! :)

Yeah, thank for this source.

It is not evident for me.

Look :

"I've tested" => is related with the present so ? But I do not write what is this relation with the present.

"I tested" => ok, he tested in the past, but it's finished now.

Do you understand my logic ? ><

Yeah use, "I've tested", if your're not going to modify the verb with an adverb of time (yesterday, last night, tomorrow, etc.).

18) Mr YYY had estimated this amount of work to take 3 months.
Good job! There are some other improvements that can be made, but my brain isn't functioning well enough tonight to figure them out.

20) I've liked to do this mission, I like a lot the physical, and work it with my passion for the IT, it was very nice.

There are several errors making this sentence awkward. You could say, “I have liked doing …”, and, “I like a lot of …” but the word ‘physical does not work in this sentence, I assume you meant Physics which is a completely different word. To say you like physics a lot, you could say, “I love physics” or “I love physics a lot” or if you are extremely fond of physics, “I really love physics a whole lot”. We don’t say, “and work it” or “the IT” in this context, we might say, “and working it in with my passion for IT”.

So, you could say, “I have enjoyed working on this assignment. I love physics, and working it in with my passion for IT, was very nice”.

20) J’ai apprécié réaliser cette mission, j’aime beaucoup la physique, la lier avec ma passion pour informatique était très sympa.

19) Except I was faster than Mr YYY had estimated, so we have free time (around 1 month), I added some features et I improved the application's design.

Except is unusual at the beginning of a sentence and, as is, would require a comma to follow it. A more common word in this usage would be, “however” which also requires a comma. You have used ‘was’ and ‘have’ in the same sentence, which violates tense. You also have a run on sentence.

You could say, “However, I was faster than Mr. YYY had estimated, so we had around one month of free time. I added some features and I improved the application’s design.”

19) Sauf que j’ai été plus vite que Monsieur YYY n’avait planifié, donc avec le temps qui restait (environ 1 mois), nous avons ajouté des fonctionnalités et améliorer le design de de l’application.

16) - I created a new calculation method for points of reference

The sentence reads fine.

16) J’ai créé une nouvelle méthode de calcul pour les références des ponts.

“I have created a new method of calculation for bridge references”

17) - I tested and validated the running of whole

You could say, “I tested and validated the functions of the whole [program]”

17) J’ai testé et validé le fonctionnement de tous

I have tested and validated the function of everything (in the program software)

18) Mr. YYY had estimated this amount of work in 3 months.

14) - I realized the windows allowing the addition, removal, and the modification of data in database.

‘Realized’ would not be used in this context. A ‘the’ is needed in front of ‘database’.

14) J’ai réalisé les fenêtres permettant l’ajout, la suppression et la modification des données en base de données.

I have created windows to enable the input, deletion, and modification of data in the database.

15) - I remade the existing calculation method.

This sentence translation may or may not be correct as it is written depending on the intended meaning of ‘remade’. ‘Remade’ is a tricky word in regular usage – the bed has to be remade when it has been slept in, or when dinner gets burnt it has to be remade. If you are using the same calculation method it would be an exact copy and it would not be described as being remade. In this context it would almost imply a change was required to correct it and it was then not an exact copy. Someone does not remake a painting if they copy an existing one; if the painting is destroyed you can then remake it (or it can then be remade).

15) J’ai reproduis la méthode de calcul existante.

I have reproduced the existing calculation method.

You could say: “Step by step of the process:”

Or: “The steps used to complete the project”

12) Étape du travail réalisé :

“Stages of work executed:”

13) - I designed the database with MySQL

I believe it would be more accurate to say either “in” or “using” rather than “with”. “I designed the database in MySQL”

13) J’ai conçu la base de données MySQL.

“I have designed the database in MySQL”

8) Mr YYY explained me the concepts of civil engineering and I had to develop in information technologies language named Java (belonging to Oracle).

“… explained to me … develop in the information technology language …” even with the corrections the sentence is weak.

8) Monsieur YYY m’expliquait les concepts du génie civil et moi je devais les développer dans un langage informatique appelé Java (appartenant à Oracle).

6) So I had for mission to create a software checking the capacities of highway structures to satisfy their need.

“for mission”, “a software” and “need” are grammatically incorrect here; you could say, “So, my mission was to create software to check the capacity of highway structures and determine their requirements” or “So, I had the mission of creating a software program to check the capacity of highway structures to satisfy their needs”.

6) Donc j’ai eu pour mission de réaliser un logiciel qui vérifie la capacité portante des ponts pour répondre à leurs besoins.

So I had the task of creating software that verified the bearing capacity of bridges to meet their needs.

7) Thanks to this solution XXX can to make itself known, and create a professionnal network bigger.

“can” and “to” are not used together, you could say, “XXX can use this solution to make itself known and create a bigger professional network”.

7) Grâce à cette solution XXX peut se faire connaître, et créer un réseau professionnel plus étendu.

4) XXX noted that there was managers of highway structures who was more and more overworked.

‘Managers’ is plural which requires ‘were’ rather than the singular ‘was’. “More and more” generally translates to “increasingly”. I am not sure what the meaning of the sentence is, it seems that it could be either the people looking after the bridges are over worked or the bridges themselves are overloaded which causes a need for the managers to provide a solution. So my translation is only a guess.

4) XXX a remarqué qu’il y avait des gestionnaires d’ouvrage qui étaient de plus en plus surchargé.

XXX noticed that the structures being managed were becoming increasingly overworked.

5) They need to answer faster to transporter.

‘Transporter” is grammatically incorrect as used.

5) Ils ont un besoin de répondre plus vite au transporteur.

They needed to respond faster to traffic [demands/needs/usage].

2) XXX is a research department working in the civil engineering more especially with the highway structure (= bridge).

‘Department’ would not work in this context. “working in the civil engineering” is grammatically incorrect as used; you could say: “Working in the civil engineering field” however this does not really work for the most likely translation and would generally describe a person not a company. “More especially” is not grammatically correct, ever, you could perhaps say ‘most especially’ and be understood as to your intention however it would be slang grammar if written in this context. You work with a specialization in highway structures such as bridges. (Here you refer to structures or bridges in general which requires the plural; ‘The” refers to a singular structure or bridge so you must drop the ‘the’ and add an ‘s’ to the object).

2) XXX est un bureau d’étude travaillant dans le génie civil spécialisé dans les ponts:

XXX is a consulting firm that specializes in the engineering of bridges.

3) It makes project manager, conception and / or realization of highway structures. “It makes project manager” is grammatically incorrect. Also, ‘It’ when used in this context alone is awkward. It is better replaced with ‘The company’ or something similar that reminds the reader of the subject. Realization is an unusual use in this context, not necessarily wrong, just odd.

3) Il fait de la maîtrise d’œuvre, de la conception et / ou de la réalisation des ponts:

It deals with the project management, design and / or implementation of bridges.

1) I have realized my internship of 3rd year from February 16th to May 13th, 2016 in the company XXX.

You don’t normally realize an internship, you can realize your dream of completing an internship, or, you simply complete the internship. Also, I am not sure what meaning was intended with this sentence so the following may not be precisely what was intended, however, all three versions mean basically the same thing.

1) J’ai réalisé mon stage de 3ième année du 16 février au 13 mai 2016 dans la société XXX:

I have completed a third year of internship, which ran from February 16 to May 13, 2016, with XXX Company.

Or:

I have finished my third year of internship with XXX Company, which began February 16, and ended May 13, 2016.

Or:

I am finding it very difficult to learn a new language. I have come to see how bad I am at my own language through the effort of learning another one. There are so many grammar rules that I do not understand in my own language. I speak and understand english fluently because it is my native tongue, but to write something and be grammatically correct is frustrating. I think we get lazy and try to write how we speak and it does not do us any good.

Language is such a tricky thing. A word may seem the same or seem to mean the same thing and yet not really work in the same place. Plus some words look the same as words in another language but mean completely different things.

Sadly the only way to become fluent in a language is to work at it constantly and I am afraid I do not put enough time into it. I feel like I forget as many words as I learn.

You have the right attitude and you are clearly putting a lot of time and effort into learning so I am sure you will succeed :)
