    I put the ''і" instead of "А" but it marked as wrong,if you could explain this to me I'd be grateful.


    "А" denotes an opposition, a contrast. It is like you oppose/compare the professions, i.e., your being a director and his/her being something else.

    "І" denotes a connection, an alignment. For example: "Я — працівник тут. І ви теж!? Як гарно!" - "I am an employee here. And you too!? How nice!"
