Extraneous Downvotes.

I received a downvote on a sentence I edited. The downvote was for a previous version of the sentence, not the edit I had made. How does this happen?

January 18, 2014

I should clarify: when I viewed the sentence to see if any changes had been made to the translation, my translation, which listed 3 upvotes and 0 downvotes, was on top. What happened?

Well, you know, if you got a downvote, it could be on any translation and you'd probably not find the one which was downvoted, which happened to me.

I think duolingo should show us which translation was downvoted and when someone downvotes, I wish you had to leave a reason why rather than just randomly downvoting and making other people get their translating progress decreased.

Exactly. Supposedly it links to the translation that was downvoted... I've only ever been downvoted twice, but the first time when I hit the link I saw that no changes were made, and the second time I was led to a translation that was not my own. I suppose I shouldn't make such a big deal of it, but it just seems glitchy to me.

I was downvoted and when I click my translation isn't even listed among them and others have my translation on there word for word. I don't understand what happened.

Yeah, there are some people who are out there, who purposely downvote, I don't know why.
