I'd really like to write Esperanto on my laptop. I recently upgraded it to Windows 10. Any ideas?

I've been really happy with the Bitabismo keyboard mentioned on the New Zealand Esperanto Association's website (http://en.esperanto.org.nz/how-to-learn-esperanto/how-to-type-esperanto-characters/windows), and also by amuzulo on this thread: https://www.duolingo.com/comment/8841170. It lets you type the special characters such as ĉ, ŭ, and ŝ by typing right alt, plus the regular character.

While I've only used it with Windows 8/8.1/XP, I don't know of any reason it wouldn't work with 10. I've set it as my default keyboard so I can easily type Esperanto at any time.

I use Tajpi. Just be aware it shows up as a virus if you have antivirus software. It's not. It's just that the nature of the program (monitoring the keys you type so it knows when to insert a hat-letter) is inherently a form a keylogging software, which sets off all kinds of alarms. People have been using it for years with no one ever reporting any nefarious issues.

I made available an Esperanto Keyboard Layout for Windows 10 here: http://connectina.co.uk/esperanto/eo-win-keyboard.html

If you want to use a modifier key (ex: alt+u becomes ŭ), you can just use this simple AutoHotKeyScript:

f12:: Suspend, Toggle Return

!c::ĉ !g::ĝ !h::ĥ !j::ĵ !s::ŝ !u::ŭ

!C::Ĉ !G::Ĝ !H::Ĥ !J::Ĵ !S::Ŝ !U::Ŭ

Of course the hotkeys (everything before the ::) can be changed to whatever you want. I think there's also a way to get it to work with the x-system, but that seems a bit tricky (here's a reddit post that might help: https://goo.gl/b6NhDT). I also included a toggle to pause the script, which is f12 atm.

I've changed my keyboard layout with a little microsoft program. you can do the same or I can pass you my own layout. The problem is that I'm a catalan and we use the fisical spanish keyboard and I think you don't have this. Is it? The name of the program for do it yourself is : Keyboard layout creator 1.4

The keyboard for English - Esperanto supplied by Marcus Sunela in 2012 found on the New Zealand Esperanto organization website isn't found (no longer available). Does anyone else know how else to look for it? Or does anyone have contact with the author so can ask for the file to be requested again? Thanks.

A Canadian French keyboard layout will do, except for the ux. The key on the right of P is the "hat". Press it, then press c, g, h, j, or s.

Some "classical" software also works.

Autohotkey might also help, though I have not tested it.

You can do ŭ on the Canadian Multilingual layout, it's just a lot of keys. Press Ctrl, Shift, and the key above Enter, release, then press U.

It's not working for me. Do you have any recommendations? I'm on Windows 10, using the Canadian Multilingual Standard.
