Is this a saying? I am finding it hard to translate Ik heb gelijk (I have equal) to I am right :S

It's just how we say it.

Gelijk hebben = to be right

Het is net zoals in het frans : j'ai raison, j'ai froid, j'ai faim...

why not "ik ben gelijk"?

The Dutch "have" things like many other languages. Ik heb het koud. Ik heb honger.

Any deeper than that and you're asking a philosophical question which should be asked in an appropriate forum.

You'd use that to say 'I am equal'.
