A Swedish singer you might want to listen to
Media just told us that Swedish rock poet Olle Ljungström died, aged only 54. This sad event made me go to YouTube and listen to some of his songs. I realized that he has a very clear, neutral pronunciation. He also wrote some really worthwhile lyrics. You might want to check his songs out.
Here's a link to one YouTube playlist with Olle Ljungström, but if the link doesn't work, there's plenty more out there, just google. You can find most of the lyrics online too. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL81EA60164C2AED8C
Goodbye Olle and thank you for your words and music.
Thanks so much Arnauti. Hadn't heard of him before. Really enjoy this style of music and must agree - he sings very clearly and is easy to understand.
"Du och jag" is my favourite so far (subject to change, only listened to 5 tracks so far).
Yeah a musician friend mentioned this earlier today, sad and shocked. Someone said he'd been fighting diabetes. I'd not heard of him before, checked him on Youtube, found him doing a cover of Seasons in the Sun (don't think it's on that playlist). Not my favorite song but if you listen to the words it's chilling, at least today: "Good-bye my friend, it's hard to die..." https://youtu.be/M2qY1RZllEw?t=49s
Thanks for the playlist. I recommend the third song "En apa…", great lyrics.
Thanks! He does have some fantastic stuff. I have been listening to Per Gessle and Gyllene Tider to help me learn Swedish. Per also sings clearly and is easy to understand. Check out some of his demo songs with just him and his guitar. I just checked out Olle's music and it's fantastic. We don't get to hear any great artists like this in the US unfortunately. As a guitarist, I feel like I have missed out on so much great music over the decades. Please post more Swedish artists here to check out.
