How 'bout Are here any vegetarians? or Are here vegetarians? I'm not a native speaker, but saying Are there vegetarians here sound like a nonsense to me

That's wrong sentence structure.

The correct one is "Are there ... here?"

I would say that "Are there (any) vegetarians" is the correct expression. Afaik you cannot leave out "there".

Coukd this question be translated: Are the vegetarians here?' meaning expected guests?

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/sagitta145

No, that would be simple "Вегетаріанці тут?"

  • є + = "Is/are there ?"

E.g. В Україні є коти? = Are there cats in Ukraine?

Is тут є always used as a question? "Are there x here?" Or can it also be a statement "There are x here."
