Is this the right use of the French word mesures? I thought measurements were les dimensions and la mesure was the act of measuring.

I agree, I would definitely use "les dimensions" in this context. I'm not sure if "la mesure" is wrong, but I haven't heard it before.

FWIW, la mesure can be the "(act of) measuring" and also the result of the measuring, the "measurement". Ex: prendre les mesures de quelque chose = to take the measurements of something. http://www.larousse.com/en/dictionaries/french-english/mesure/50684 Bonne journée !
