I wrote "We contribute our share," and it was marked wrong, yet the drop down gave we contribute as a possibility, unless using "leisten" with "we" is redundant??
I did the same thing and it seems to me that although the English idiom is "we do our share," the sentence still makes sense to say " we contribute our share." I'm going to tell them that my answer should be accepted.
Should "We do our part" also be accepted? One of the translations the other way around is "Wir tun unseren Teil."
I just tried that and it said no, but I think "part" should be correct in this sentence. If the context were money, of course not, but this is referring to an action.
I don't think so. One would just use "liefern." for deliver. I think the "contribution" here is more of a abstract sort of thing rather than a concrete thing. The doing our share translation really gets the sense across.
So "We do our share" is accepted, but "We are doing our share" is not. Oooookay....... (Reported)
