One Year Streak!
Hey! I've been learning French here on Duolingo for a year now, and I've loved everyday of it! My self-esteem and my confidence has definitely grown throughout this year, because I've learned that I have the persistence and the drive to commit to doing lessons everyday. I'm almost done with my French tree, which I know isn't that much of an accomplishment for a year of learning it, but with all of the extracurriculars and performances that I have, it makes me very happy that I was able to do at least this well! I would recommend Duolingo to anyone who wants to learn a second language. Fortunately, I found Duolingo before I paid for an expensive app, and I'm so happy that I did! Thank you Duolingo for everything you've done for me, and I'm going to work hard to finish my French tree soon! Au Revoir! - Georgia Kate
Congrats! I love duo too! Do you think that you'll start another tree?
I have two pieces of advice: First is to find one habit (or routine) you've already got, then connect DL to it. Second, don't try to be a hero; just 5 minutes is enough.
I'm at 78 days now. I've found that by getting into routines where I can just do one lesson, I'm successful. For example, I do one (~5 minutes) as soon as I park my car at work-before I even go in the door.
I also start one when my breakfast is cooking (3 minutes), then finish it as I eat (3-5 minutes). I'm not looking to do 30 minutes or anything, just 5 min per day. I often get far more than that, but that's all just icing. My streak only needs 5 minutes, and they're built in.
Georgia, you rock! Thanks for inspiring me!
