Is this term as vague as it often is in English, with everything from software engineers to engineers who build bridges, or is it only used for one profession?

I'm pretty sure that they are, but sometimes people may tell them differently as software engineers → "kỹ sư máy tính (or công nghệ)" But as I see, people often called all of them simple as "kỹ sư"

Can this also be "They see the working engineers?"

nhìn xem & thấy ...are they all the same?

  • nhìn: to look at
  • xem: to see, to watch
  • thấy: to see

they also can be paired into a phrase verb.

  • nhìn thấy: to catch sight of
  • nhìn xem: to look and see
  • xem thấy: to see
