How is chăm chỉ different from siêng năng?

Personally I think chăm chỉ = diligent while siêng năng = hard-working. When you talk about a student, it's usually chăm chỉ, not siêng năng, since it requires a certain degree of "meticulousness" in studying.

They have the same meaning. In the North, people usually say ''chăm chỉ''.
