400.000,- learners achieved (2016.05.25)

After 3 month again 100 k new learners, within 1 year 400 k new learners, this is a huge success. I congratulate everybody, who participated in this project (every people who left a comment or participated in this project anyhow) and I think esperanto proved for us, that this is a great language, with lot of advantages to learn. I'm personally learning esperanto for 9 month and I am now confident enough to participate in an esperanto event in Nyitra this year. I am happy that I could learn a language in my age (44,6 years old) very quickly and I would like to use it more and more and would like to spread it as well. I think we should launch a campaign on internet to show that this is a great language with many advantages and rapily increasing community. I hope my language mistakes are not very high :)

Post 3 monatoj denove 100 m novaj lernantoj, ene 1 jaro 400 m novaj lernantoj, gxi estas granda sukceso. Mi pensas ni povus lancxi kampanjon sur interreto montri ke cxi tiu estas granda lingvo kun multajn avantagxojn kaj rapide kreskanta komuno.

Dankon denove !

Sorry but as I keep reading this over an over again: It's ... lernantoj, kiujn Esperanto havas.

I'm sorry, but can you explain why "ke" is wrong? I've never seen kiujn before.

Look again at the sentence: "You see that English grammar is one, that is sometimes difficult."

Now see if we can replace the two "that"s by a "which".

"You see which English grammar is one, which is sometimes difficult."

For the first "that" it doesn't work, for the second it does.

If you can replace a "that" by a "which", don't use "ke" in Esperanto.

It's a typical anglicism. As a German native, "ke" would never come to my mind here and when I read it, I can literally hear the English accent of the writer.

EDIT: typo

Ah, I see. So one is a relative pronoun and the other a conjunction. I'll have to read up on both in Esperanto.

Don't be so fast to assume this mistake is an only an anglicism. Spanish also uses the same word for both (que). Even though my native language is English, I was thinking in terms of Spanish, since I've been intensively studying it for the last three days. It's hard not to relate ke with que. I also don't think you can hear an English accent from our Urso here, with his (her?) California location ;).

I can think of several times in discussions recently when people have called things anglicisms when they are not. In some cases they're patterns common to several languages. Sometimes it's about mistakes. Other times it's about good Esperanto usage that the complainer hasn't learned yet.

Myself, I tend to think of the overuse of "ke" as a romanticism, but I'm probably just as wrong as Johmue is calling it an anglicism.

When I read Esperanto sentences by Urso, it's clear right away: English native, or at least someone with English as reference language.

I'm sorry, as I've seen this on (here) so many times from foreign English speakers. It's "Hear" not "Here" Here is "Cxi-tie", Hear is "Auxdi". His German accent is coming through so strongly...also the use of literally (here) is incorrect as you cannot "Literally" (hear) my speech. Yes even English speakers use it incorrectly, like the phrase "alot" being two words instead of one. Aren't you grateful you have me (here)?

I edited my typo. Thanks.

You're still using the word literally incorrectly. Dictionary.com will give you the proper usage of the word.

You can argue if you want but I tell you the truth, you're using the word literally incorrectly.

That's an interesting question. If someone is hearing voices in their head, are they literally hearing voices. I don't have any skin in this game.

I don't think he realizes that Americans don't have English accents.

Maybe he's using literally as a form of hyperbole.
