Hi. I´m doing really well learning Italian with Duolingo but find that I´m losing points/making so-called "mistakes" because I am British and, therefore, don´t use US American but what I write is still correct, but the system does not recognise this.

Please can you fix this? Many thanks.

If something is correct but it's marked as incorrect, you can always report it. :)

Do this by clicking the Report a problem button while doing exercises on the website and Android devices, and select My answer should be accepted.

I use iPhone 5 and it can happen a few times during one exercise. It´s too much to keep reporting the problem (if possible on iPhone) so many times but thanks for your suggestion.

Yeah, there is not easy way to report on iOS yet, hopefully that will come soon!

Usually British spelling is accepted. Are you using colloquial phrases? Sometimes things like that won't be accepted.

It´s usually in the smaller "joining" words like in or on, or spellings like center -v- centre. It´s really annoying :S thanks

That's what it is. I'm sorry. :( Duo accepts spelling, but when it comes different word choices, it's sometimes too adamant. Just keep reporting so you can pave the way for other Brits. :)
