Losing hope of ever getting the 2.0 Bokmål tree
Sorry - what does this mean? A second tree is under development? It doesn't show in the list of courses coming ... would be great if there is another.
It just means that the Bokmål team has redesigned the tree, revising and extending it, and are gradually replacing the old/current tree in user accounts. It's not a separate course; it's a replacement.
In accordance with Murphy's law, I'm expecting to get tree 2.0 when I'm one lesson away from completing tree 1.0.
I got in when I was almost done. Now I'm glad I didn't rush through either of them.
I'm certainly getting through the first tree quickly, but I don't feel I'm rushing: it's simply so refreshingly easy-going when one's already done the Swedish and Danish courses.
It's always fun when I space on the Norwegian word and think oh I'll just use the Swedish word and change the ö to "ø and see what happens and get it correct or almost correct.
From what I've read from others, it'll just suddenly appear in place of the old one. You'll be able to tell because many of the skills you had completed will very suddenly be incomplete again, and there will a significant number of new skills added as well.
There will also be an alert that says "does something look different?" or something like that.
Sorry I'm new to duolingo. Does this mean a whole new Bokmål tree to replace the current one, or a more advanced tree?
The new tree has SO many skills (seems like there was a lot of splitting up existing stuff) that I may have to revise my strategy of never starting a new skill unless all existing ones above it are fully strengthened. I can easily get 200xp per day just on strengthening the old stuff that has gone un-gold.
Ha, indeed. I do that too, and even just trying to refill the original tree (after a long hiatus, which is what I'm doing now) I get about three-quarters through and then end up dumping all of my time (~150 pts a day, often) into filling the older ones, and barely progress.
