"Él escibió las letras de esa canción"

I answered: "He wrote the words to that song." I was told that was incorrect and that it should have been: "He wrote the words for that song."

My answer while not the direct translation is, I believe, the proper phrase in English. One writes words TO a song.

By the way, how to you post to the Sentences board? I thought my entry would end up there.

I wrote "he wrote the lyrics of that song". Can I say this as well? Or doesn't "letras" carry that meaning?

You can report the sentence the next time it comes up by pressing the "Report a Problem" button on the left side of the red bar and selecting "My answer should be accepted", or press "Discuss Sentence" and then type up what you want to say.
