I finished the German tree!
I've been taking German in school for the last two years, so I had a bit of a leg-up (and a dictionary!). Nonetheless, I'm really happy that I got so far so soon; the tree took me 45 days.
Now to start Dutch!
Gut gemacht!
Mach weiter so!
No, I haven't! I think I'll do it in about 10 months, after I've finished German 3 at my school.
Kein Problem! Yeah, word order can be a pain in the arse, right? Haha, I've managed to remember that "dass" always sends the verb to the end of the clause thankfully!
From what I can tell so far, it's very similar to German, and only having one indefinite article (so far) is quite nice!
I hear that dutch is like German with a potato in your mouth, so I hope you like potatoes.
I'm sorry to ask, but is it possible to finish a whole tree and stay in level 13? I mean, I'm into about 70% of the course and am level 11.
Yeah, I guess you could stay at Level 13 after finishing the tree. My level is likely to go up over time as I review this tree, but if you don't practice your level will stay the same.
Does this answer your question? I'm not quite sure I understood it.
Kinda. I just thought that people who finished the whole tree up be at level 25, cause this is the final level. And I thought that it would go up as developing the tree. And I was surprised you finished it and is only level 13.
It's probably because they keep reviewing old lessons after finishing them until they understand the material before moving on. You also have to review lessons again over time from them changing from gold. One more thing, the German tree is huge.
For a while I thought I was going to finish at level 12. I'm probably going to finish Dutch at level 11 or so, just because the tree is so comparatively short.
I started in 2014, stopped for 3 years, and started from the top. It was fun, 22% through and level 6. Once I finish this giant tree I will do more in Spanish and French.
Did you finish the three on only 45 days? :O How much did you practice everyday?
Well, my daily goal is set at 20 XP, so some days (especially near the beginning of my 45 day haul, when I was in school) I only did 2 lessons. However, for the past ~3 weeks, I've been doing anywhere between 5 and 100 lessons, including Welsh and French.
I was actually in the running for an AATG program that would allow me to go to Germany for 3 weeks and live with a host family for free. However, I didn't make it past the interview stage.
