Don’t Read This Article Si T’es Pas Bilingue

Bonjour tout le monde!

Are you looking for a test on how well you can transition from reading French and English? Well, look no further as here is an article that is written in a combination of both languages! A guy from Montreal realized that there were no bilingual articles, so he decided to write one. It's quite fun to read and really describes how life is like when you're bilingual. Hope you enjoy!

Thank you very much. I really enjoyed reading this article. It kindda made me happy that I could read 95% of the French parts. I studied French for 3 years but that was already more than 10 years ago. It's good to know that I remember so much even though I cannot speak it.

Reading this article felt more like reading an article in English with lots of French words than a truly bilingual article. What's your impression?

I have not even studied French and I can mostly pick up on what he is saying. I think this would be a great tool for learning a new language. Books or articles could be written in a mix of a learners native language and target language. New words could be introduced along the way. Mixing the grammar might be a bit difficult, but learning would almost be effortless.

In my newspaper in Germany there is once a week a mixed article in German and French (I live in the border region). It's quite fun to read.
