fel mochyn - 'like a pig'. So:

  • mae o'n gwaedu fel mochyn - he's bleeding like a (stuck) pig = he's bleeding profusely/heavily

Why is "He bleeds like a pig" wrong?

The usual equivalent English saying includes the 'stuck' - it is an idiomatic saying saying, so a word-for-word translation is unlikely to work.

Another example:

  • Mae hi'n bwrw hen wragedd a ffyn - It's raining cats and dogs
