Second tree finished!
I'm very happy to have finished my second tree, this time in French. I started Duolingo last summer to prepare for an exam, and although I knew some French before so it went quickly, Duolingo was perfect to prepare for the detailed grammar rules that are tested on a standardized exam. Thank you to the Duolingo team, especially for the clear, detailed grammar notes at the beginning of the tree. I learned some things I had never learned in six years of school language classes.
Thanks! Next steps: golden tree (it is close), reaching level 25, then probably the reverse tree. In addition I speak with a native speaker for 30 minutes a week (arranged by work). It's not enough but it is good practice. I'm also working on Spanish and I will continue to focus on the two languages because I can really use them for work. I'd like to do immersion programs for at least two weeks in each language, but most programs don't seem to run during the first two week in January which would be the best timing for me.
Thanks, I give you credit for taking the initiative to really learn Spanish. I also give you credit for taking the languages you are learning so seriously.
