Here is a link to a video of a native english speaker ( well an australian) who is fluent in esperanto making a speech in chinese at a competition which his wife entered him for a week beforehand (without his prior knowledge or agreement)

He demonstrates how to get hold of an audience and keep them entertained even if your language skills are not perfect.
