Why isn't שבעה עשר spelled with a yud in the first syllable? To my ear it sounds like שיבעה עשר, and that would fit the pattern of חמישה עשר and שישעה עשר, which both have an added yud in the masculine form. So is there a reason it doesn't follow the pattern?
