Do you think a snake would ever get grossed out by a spider?

A snake is eating a spider. And a snake eats a spider is the same

So why did i get it wrong?

'Serpent' is a 'snake' and should be allowed as correct.

I don't think the tree maintainers read all of these forum discussions. If you want to get them to allow it: Answer the question using the word "serpent" in your answer. Then, when your answer is marked as wrong, click the flag button to compose a report.

In general, Duolingo expects you to choose common translations, not uncommon ones.

What's the difference is there between : the snake eats the spider and the snake is eating the spider? Why did I loose the point

That was not the problem. The mistake was putting "the" in front of "spider". It should have been "a spider".

Both of your sentences translate to the same Hebrew sentence: הנחש אוכל את העכביש.
