Duolingo is the most popular way to learn languages in the world. Best of all, it's 100% free!

Are there plans to make it easier to see our daily progress?

For me, it would be ideal to be able to see how many XP I got today, on the main page. For example, it could be added to the hover on the streak, so instead of just saying "118 day streak", (which just duplicates what's already showing), it could say "118 day streak, 20 XP today".

Or, it would be somewhat of an improvement if the daily score popped up every time I see the progress graph. It seems to pop up when I complete a skill, but not always when I do a practice.

I mainly want to know whether it's a deliberate decision not to make our daily XP easily available, maybe to force us to practice every day instead of just doing Immersion, or whether it's just something that hasn't been dealt with yet in the new design.

Absolutely! Especially juggling with three languages it's difficult to keep track sometimes. If it is meant "to force us to practice every day" - think again!

I agree! I keep wondering what my score is, and the only way to know is to do another exercise - which I do not always have time for. It should be so simple to put it on the home page as in the past! IT WOULD BE A GREAT HELP!!!! PLEASE!!

I miss that too, now you can only see it when you just finished an exercise. Also the activity stream contains a lot less and I can not see the trees of people I follow anymore.

Some more statistics to see would be great (also for people we follow), maybe in the profile or something. Statistics can keep me motivated.

That suggestion gets my up vote and a lingot!

I also use the daily score to monitor how I go and not having it is a disinsentive. It would be so good to see where I am at at a glance.

I use the charts on the home page when I need to figure out if I have done my daily Duolingo dose. Since I do the same number of lessons each day in each language, if my line is not straight, I have more work to do. :) EDITED after Barbara's reply: these charts are in the mobile app.

Are you still on the old interface, with the piles of coins for each day of the week?

They are on the website too, but only visable after finishing an exercise in the new interface.

But you can't always see the exact amount for the current day. Sometimes the value for the current day pops up and sometimes it doesn't.

I believe you mentioned before that you were a software developer. So in IT terminology this can simply be described as a phased parallel implementation of a new system. Some features will once again be implemented in the new version while others deemed "unworthy" or less useful may be discarded.

Right. Hence the question in my title and my last paragraph: Are there plans to re-implement this feature, or is it deemed unworthy or less useful?

Well, it was initially deemed unworthy and later deemed worthy since users requested it [1].

Thanks. Somehow I missed that whole thread.

Here's hoping that when it does come back as part of the coaching feature, that it's easily available all the time.
