Before you read this post and wait for my brilliant idea- I don't think I have one. I would just like to share my opinion. In the past, I have managed to get streaks almost 80 days long, and then I have one really busy Sunday, and poof, gone. Not because I didn't want to practice, or didn't have time, it simply just fled my mind. I get the reminder email but honestly, it gets lost in my mind. And anyways, was that yesterday's or today's? I turned off the reminders on my phone because the addition of the coach made it quite annoying. I would get six in one day, (Or none at all) so I would start to ignore them automatically! Again, I don't have a real clear idea, but shouldn't there be an option, like Streak Freeze, but to add it to the previous day? Shouldn't there be clearer reminders on the app to avoid confusion? Shouldn't there be ways to avoid losing an amazing streak due to silly little things that were a total accident? Ideas?
Buy a streak freeze now. If my house burns down, I can't buy insurance the next day. If I am a few minutes late to check in for a flight, for any reason, the plane leaves without me. Sometimes we pay the price for 'forgetting' or ignoring multiple reminders. :)
Look at the flame next to your username. If there is no green check mark, you need to do some work today.
If you buy a streak freeze but then do some practice, does the streak freeze remain in tact and get applied to a missed day, or is it wasted?
Yes, the streak freeze is only used when you miss a day. So, it's best to buy it and have it always available in case of emergency. I always have the streak freeze available, and I've already used it a couple times because I forgot to study. It, indeed, solves the problem that the original poster has.
However, of course, if you skip 2 days of study, you will still lose your streak.
thanks, so the logical next question (because I forget if the button disappears when you buy one), Can you buy multiple SF's ahead of time, or only one?
I have 86 days straight, but had to use streak freeze only twice, and both were recently. Tuesdays-Fridays when I go to work (before anyone else) I do a quick vocabulary practice (weakest words) or a single lesson in the tree to preserve my streak, so those days are fine. Sat & Sun I have to remember, but that's not too difficult since I am in "eager" mode as my Spanish improves. Monday I do a lesson from my phone while waiting for laundry to dry. Moral of the story.... not sure
