"Konflikten gjelder religion."

Translation:The conflict pertains to religion.

Why is "applies to" in the drop-down menu for "gjelder" if it's wrong? And "relates to" was given as another possible translation, but it's not there.

  • "This rule applies to all situations" sounds perfectly natural.
  • "The conflict applies to religion" sounds markedly unnatural to me. "deals with", "pertains to", "has to do with", "is about", "concerns", "relates to", all sound 20x better.
  • Oftentimes only the top drop-down hints will work in a given situation. Sometimes a word is a useful translation in one context, and not in another. ^case and point.
