DONE - thanks!
Just finished the tree and thought I'd write a thank-you note!
Thanks so much, Hebrew course creators! This was my first time using Duolingo, and the course was exactly what I'd hoped for. I love learning grammar but hate learning vocabulary, and this course made it a lot less painful to learn new words. I was really impressed by the sheer number of words introduced in the course. I also appreciated that the explanations of the binyanim were concise and didn't get caught up in the pedantic details of each gizra. The organization of the course was very logical and easy to follow.
(My only suggestion is to eradicate all the English grammatical errors of the form "Since she was a little girl, she likes painting." Gahhhh, use the present perfect. I must have seen that error a dozen times.)
Thanks again for all the work you've put into the course; it really shows! Kol ha-kavod!
Thanks Olja! Wow, I can't even imagine how much Hebrew practice you've done in the last week...
Thank you :) I've studied Hebrew since 2010... 6 years very actively so nothing special I really did :) just a number. Your achievement is really impressive.
Our pleasure! There's a lot of work to be done but we'll get there. Bit by bit.
Wow that is crazy!! Congratulations! I actually went on your profile just to check you had actually finished it because I couldn't believe it. How much Hebrew did you know beforehand?
Thanks so much! :) I knew maybe a thousand words beforehand, and grammar-wise I knew the active binyanim. But (and here's another way that this course helped me) I was mostly learning words aurally, so my spelling was atrocious. This course actually forced me to type words in Hebrew, so I finally learned how to spell all the words I knew by ear (and then learned a bunch of other words besides).
I am so impressed by how many languages everyone here has studied or is studying! I have my hands full just learning Hebrew.
