The correct translation should be "I cannot," not "I can not."

As long as Duolingo continues to write "can not" instead of "cannot," the site will look like it is out of touch with contemporary written English.

But your link says that both are correct Both cannot and can not are acceptable spellings, but the first is much more usual.

Both "I can't!" and "I cannot!" are accepted now.
