"There aren't roads."
What is the literal translation of this? Is it something like "It has no roads"? Also, why doesn't "זה לא דרכים" work?
The word "אין" means that something doesn't exist, so that's actually the best translation I can think off: there are no road. Best translation for "אין" would be no in the sentence above, also I see that you're a fellow German learner, so it's like the word kein in "es gibt kein.."
