so why is the English translation Janos and not János? like I don't think Janos is an English name?

Based on experience with other courses, I'm guessing they will accept Janos, János or John. Edit: they do, I tested.

I can think of two reasons: writing down "János" with the basic English characters would turn it into "Janos". And, also, this course is fresh out of the incubator, it needs cleaning up. Oh, and it may make you start to wonder.... what could be the original spelling of names like "Zsazsa Gabor", "Bela Lugosi", "Victor Laszlo", "Bela Bartok" and others you might know?

fantastic intuition, indeed that's where the word comes from.

'viszlát' is the short version for 'viszontlátásra' which is something like '(looking forward) to seeing you again'

"John" is the English version of the Hungarian "János".

Viszlat is colloquial. Thus "so long" should be an acceptable translation.
