Is everything alright with the Duolingo servers?

Since yesterday evening I have been experiencing weird problems when trying to access the Duolingo webpage. I have tried three different computers running Ubuntu, Linux Mint and ChromeOS and an iPhone, and using two separate internet connections (ethernet and tethering from my mobile phone) and was able to recreate the problem successfully every time.

What happens is that it would take many refreshes before the website loaded successfully, on Chrome showing the "Connection reset" page and on the iPhone "Could not establish secure connection to the server" message. Duolingo is the only page I have noticed to be behaving like that so I believe everything should be fine with my internet connection. One time it even loaded a page that looked like a cached old data (e.g. my daily goal progress showed as 20/30 even though I had completed my daily goal earlier). I also noticed that it is impossible to ping duolingo.com from the linux terminal; it doesn't return any packets of data. However I have never tried pinging the server before the problem occurred so maybe this is the intended behavior.

When the page does load successfully I sometimes get a secure HTTPS connection with a valid certificate and sometimes the connection is not private.

Is anyone else experiencing anything like this or is it just me? I really hope that these are just technical problems lying entirely on my side and will keep trying to resolve them (the problem does seem to occur less frequently today) but could the Duolingo staff please double check that everything is in order and that no one is trying to compromise the servers?

Good to know that I am not the only one experiencing this! Seeing the comments from other users it seems like it is not a common issue, though.

I have also had problems for the past three days. Prior to that, I have used duolingo for a period of two years but now, suddenly, I have to turn off my firewall to access it using either safari or Chrome.
