How should I know whether this is a question or not

The voice in a Hungarian sentence starts higher and continues to get deeper. In a question without an interrogative word, the penultimate syllable is intoned higher. This intonation is an emphatic statement in the German sentence, which often led to misunderstandings, when I did not answer such questions.

Yes, Duolingo is incorrectly modelling the yes/no questions in Hungarian. Raising the pitch of the penultimate syllable makes it a question inviting a yes/no response. The way Duolingo speaks them, they are not questions but statements of fact .

In script, by the question mark. In speech, by the prosody.

Thank you! Sorry, I cannot hear the difference

That can very well be the fault of the TTS.
