"Der Mann isst nicht mit seinem Kind."
I typed it "Der Mann ist nicht mit seinem Kind", which made me think the sentence meant "The man is not with his kid." Could that be a correct translation of my sentence? Aside from that, I understand the actual translation they wanted, just wondering if my sentence would make sense also.
Not really. You'd have to use a different preposition.
- Der Mann ist nicht bei seinem Kind.
Thanks! It labeled my sentence as correct, with the meaning "does not eat", which meant it was clearly isst and not ist they were looking for. So I just heard the audio wrong and they were nice enough to correct it as a simple error in typing.
