BUG: Still thrown out of test into store
Three times today I've answered a question, hit Enter to continue, and been ejected into the Store page. Duolingo is therefore unusable for me. Note that I entered this problem before at https://www.duolingo.com/comment/1569843. I got one response - a question - which I answered. The problem reported got no further attention. I hate to say it, but it appears that the forums here are a black hole as far as problem resolution is concerned. Is there any chance that this report will get attention?

This problem is NOT fixed. It happened to me again today, this time at the very end of the test.
I submitted this via the Support button at the left of the page as well. Although kristinemc said two months ago here that the forums aren't a black hole, this problem hasn't gotten any visible attention in at least a month. Here's hoping the Support feature isn't a black hole as well.
And again, four questions in. EDIT: And AGAIN, six questions in. Also, again I couldn't separate paragraphs here with the Enter key.
Now the Enter key works. However, on my last test, I got all twenty questions right. The final two responses from Duolingo took roughly ten seconds each. Also, when I hit the Complete button on the last question, it hung for a few seconds, sent me back to the Home page this time, and did not record the test.
This is obviously a serious problem that is preventing me from doing anything meaningful on the site. It's also been ignored by the devs for months. Inasmuch as my support request has gotten no response, I'll open another bug in the Troubleshooting forum. EDIT: It happened again, four out of four. Also, the Enter key isn't working in this text box again. Also, the first time I hit Enter this time, the browser scrolled to the top of the page, and the German voice said "Du bist schön." Totally insane behavior.
EDIT: Five failures out of five tries. Enter key works this time.
EDIT: Yes! The sixth test works, as does the Enter key. And a short 45 minutes after I tried to take a German test, I got one done.
I haven't experienced this problem in a few days, on either account. I do encourage the Duolingo staff to continue investigating and NOT to take this as a signal that the problem has magically disappeared, lest they fall into the practice of Programming By Superstition.
I am available for further information or testing as needed.

DL and forum readers forgive my redundancy. However, I continue to get kicked off a lesson when I still have hearts left. Today, when I wanted to read the comments on a sentence DL kicked me to the beginning. After reading troubleshooting here I tried clicking "continue" versus hitting the enter key but that did not correct the situation. I have no difficulty with my tablet version. I will try to follow these forums for a resolution. Thanks everyone for giving us free language learning.

My problems with DL continue. The details you can read in my posts here. It is disappointing and frustrating that I cannot improve my situation. I have two other issues that are happening.

1. When I sign in, I cannot see the entire letter. Somewhere in these posts others have expressed this issue.

2. When using the Spanish letters the capital E (with tilde) will not work. I have to type the other words in the sentence and then go back and DL will (allow me to) replace the English E with a Spanish E. I seem to be experiencing more and more little "glitches". I use to be able to use my own Spanish keyboard but that now seems to have issue with DL. Keyboard issues present unneccesary challenges if you are using the timed questions. Okay enough ranting. I'm off to try and get 20 questions!
13
Interesting thing tonight. I was doing Inf verbs 2. I got about 6-7 questions in and I was to translate the (verbal cue): Ud. puede actuar. I typed it in and DL returned me to 20 new questions and the first one was the (written cue): Ud. puede actuar for me to translate to English. I think this is a strange and possibly noteworthy coincidence.
It's also an irritating bug.
At the beginning of this thread, kristinemc claimed that the forums are not a black hole. In practice, though, it's been two weeks since anyone from the site has responded in any way to this problem. Actions speak louder than words, hm?
Good luck getting help with your problem.
I think that we need more information in order to diagnose what the problem is. I'm not sure if they are experiencing the same problem you originally described (being kicked out of the session into a store) or a separate problem.
I'm also not entirely sure if your issue is fixed or if you're still experiencing it.
The most key question in figuring out what the problem is if knowing if it is an actual browser crash or a session restart - one will close the window out and the other will simply navigate you to the beginning of the session. Thanks for your patience.
Typically I have multiple browser tabs open. If the browser were crashing, Chrome would tell me that its last session ended unexpectedly, and offer to restore all of the tabs for me. That's not happening. Also, a browser crash simply looks different from ... whatever has been happening in this problem.
I don't think that the session is restarting in my case, either, unless a session restart always directs the user to the Store page. In my experience, that's not what "the beginning of the session" looks like.
Also, I haven't had the problem in a while, but as I mentioned earlier, I truly TRULY hope that you don't take that as a sign that my "issue is fixed". Computer problems are fixed when somebody fixes them, not because the user stops experiencing symptoms for a while. There is nothing magic about it.
The problems we're talking about here seem similar at the very least. If you need more information for diagnosis, please ask. Thanks.
I'm glad to hear they're not a black hole. But when a week passes without a response, even "we're working on this and will have another observation for you in n days", the black-hole perception begins.
Full disclosure: I work in software support and would be pilloried for a week without any response. :)
I'm sure I'm not pressing the backspace key. At any rate, if I were pressing it, it would go back to the previous page, which was not the Store.
The only common thread I've detected is that the problem happens during Spanish review questions on this account, which uses the new-style app. I've tried responding to questions more slowly, to alleviate possible timing concerns, but that didn't help - and a required delay would be fatal for timed practice anyway.
That's all I have for now, though I'd be happy to elaborate further if you have specific questions.
More symptoms: I just tried to edit my previous comment of today. Again, the Enter key did nothing.
In a most bizarre twist, when I hit the Backspace key, it scrolled me to the top of the page, and the nice test lady's voice said "Soy periodista."
EDIT: At first, the Enter key also did nothing in this comment. When I signed out of the app, closed the browser, and got back in, the Enter key regained its functionality. So the problem may be related to sessions.
Note also that I'm logged into Duolingo on another computer in my network, but under a different user ID.

Me again, This kicking me off the website is frustrating. Today, I got about 10 questions in and it kicked me off the site. My IE states it attempts to return me to the site 2 x's, if unsuccessful it stops to avoid an endless loop. Also IE states "it appears that the website duoling.com continues to have a problem". I considered trying a different browser, but my initial research convinced me that it would not resolve this issue I am having here. Perhaps noteworthy is that sometimes it only kicks me back to the beginning of 20 questions. I have windows 8 with an HP laptop. Thank you DL for looking into this matter. One last comment. I am following a couple users and I am curious how they are accumulating points. Obviously, not everyone is experiencing these same issues.

bchan & others, I am trying to read in these forums resolutions to my problems. In this "troubleshooting" forum there is one entitled: "Duolingo Crashes I.E. from Andy_Dufresne, and another entitled: "Can't advance to next lesson". My problems seem similar. I considered trying a different browser but decided against it not being convinced it was a solution. I am using Windows8 on a hp laptop. I have experienced these problems since late last summer while in the United States and I continue with the same problem here in Mexico. I had some ticket numbers from DL but I have deleted them after not hearing from anyone. I am still thoroughly satisfied with DL and recommend it often. As frustrating as it can be to repeat lessons, and not get points, I am convinced that this program is improving my Spanish and most of the time I am having fun at the same time. Also, no complaints with the tablet version. Although my tablet is synced the problems occurred before I downloaded the tablet version. Wishing all of you at DL continued success.

Still me having the same issues as I have explained previously. Today, I was strengthening countries. I got to the 2nd question and DL kicked me back to the beginning. I went again and completed the 20 questions. Next, I was going to strengthen abstract objects 1. Less than 10 questions in DL kicked me back to the beginning. I went again to about 15 questions in and while working the statement "I am responsable for your protection". DL kicked me back to the first 20 questions. In another post I read someone clearing caches, removing cookies, I am not sure what else. If this is recommended for me please tell me how to do that with my hp laptop, Windows 8 computer that includes Norton.

Hello everyone, I receive notice through my e-mail if someone responds to my forum comments. What I received from bchan today I do not see in this forum. This might explain why I did not provide a comment back to him twice. Obviously, I do not have adequate knowledge and expertise to participate in these forums . I will however, continue to read and learn from them. Thank you DL and everyone. Teamwork makes hard jobs easy. Buenas suerte. Adios.
This month (May 2016) I have had the same problem repeatedly. I am trying to test out of a skill. I'm going along fine, and then, one or two questions before the end of the test, sometimes as I finish the very last question, while I still have hearts left, duolingo kicks me out of the test and fails to record my score. When I test again, it may happen a second time. By the third time it has always worked. This is a time waster and a frustration.
