I entered "1999" and it was marked wrong, although the correct translation was displayed as "1999". Also, the option to suggest my answer as correct wasn't present in the report options.

Was it a translation or a listening exercise?

Based on the absence of a "my answer was correct", I'm guessing it might be listening -- as far as I know, those accept only exactly one option (and so reporting any alternative would be pointless).

Would it be ok to say the year 1999 like that? I read in a Welsh language beginners book that you had to say years like mil naw cant naw deg naw for 1999, and that there was no short form.
