Does ‘roll’ literally translate to ‘rôl’?
In every meaning? Like, cinnamon roll, roll (vt), roll (int)...?
rôl comes from rhôl, which can be used for a bread roll etc - look it up on Ap Geiriaduron or on gweiadur.com. But it is also used in roc â rôl as a phonetic approximation to 'rock and roll'.
