I am confused- never have a I heard of a bear "shouting" in English, I presume "üvölteni" = "to roar / howl" and hence applicable to any number of animals?

You are right. "To shout" is better translated as "kiabálni" in most cases and it is definitely something that people do, not animals.

"Üvölt" means 2 things here: -Done by a human: aggressive/angry shouting -Done by an animal: roar
