What's wrong with "What is this district?"

No, that would be: "ma hamaKHOZ haZE."

Ok but the answer should still be excepted

And why exactly should a wrong answer be accepted?

I thought איזה meant which rather than what

אולי מחוז 12?

What's the difference between איזה and מה ??

My understanding is that, even though the translation here is what district is this…if which can be substituted for what, then Hebrew uses which ‏איזה.

If which can’t be substituted for what, such as ‏מה זה What is it? then Hebrew sticks with “what”.

Eize can also mean some or certain or “what a…” when you want to express a statement of emotion such as ‏איזה לילה קר Eize laila qar! What a cold night!
