Why the man= Le homme becomes L'homme? Why is 'Le homme' wrong? Please help.
Agreed, I thought " L' " was purely a contraction..
the h is pretty much silent, and articles become L' when the word starts with a vowel... homme pretty starts with a vowel, in french words that start with h will have the article L'
why is it wrong to say ...les enfants?
if you use les it translates to "the man is eating the rice the children" des shows possession
Couldn't it be "du riz"? Not that the sentence really makes sense anyway...
