Can you explain why, @synp? In most of this course, we've been taught to use זה as the default copula for inanimate objects, and there have been many sentences where DL rejected אותו as a direct object and demanded את זה. Why, in this sentence, do we suddenly need הוא?
I'm not arguing. If it's usually זה, then it's usually זה. It would just be nice to understand the underlying rule.

In the earlier part of this module שעון was defined as a clock, and שעון יד a watch.
