Translation:The male artist is painting female artists and the female artist is painting male artists.

But just to my ears their "correct translation " sounds unnatural and a bit sexist? Painter - painters, and paintress - paintresses although archaic sounds better than female and male artist. That would also keep the twist: "the painter paints paintresses and the paintress paints painters" What would a native speaker say?
