Facebook group for Esperanto in the US

Recent success story: someone mentioned on a thread on the group that he was the only Esperanto speaker in Arkansas and now there are three... that we know of. All within 40 minutes of each other.

If you're interested in the American Esperanto community, need help finding speakers, want to join or start a club, and so on, this is for you.

It's over a thousand members and growing. We need to encourage participation along the lines of what the group's mission is for.

Is there an age limit? I'm 17, will I be able to find people in my area? (Meaning, is it likely to find other ~17 year olds?)

Certainly there isn't an age limit on the FB group other than the regular FB rules. I do think it's a good idea to let your parents know what you're doing online. We had a few parents come join us at NASK. I know several 16-18 year olds (i.e. met them personally) who speak Esperanto very well. Not as likely that you'll be near anybody. I invite you to check out the FB group and comment if you see any interesting threads.
