I was wondering whether this was another Hungarian word that just coincidentally sounded like its English equivalent (like nyaklánc meaning "necklace"), but this one is actually a cognate! Both come from the Latin caminus: English got it through Old French [1], and Hungarian got it through Slavonic [2].

'This is a very interesting chimney' should also be correct, I think, no?

No. Be sure to note the difference (in both English and Hungarian) between 'This is X' and 'This X is'.

I think that would be translated as "Ez (egy) nagyon érdekes kémény".
