Goodbye Duo Forums
Today an on-topic post by me was deleted, and I wasn't even notified. That's not a community I want to be a part of, so goodbye forums. I'll still use the site to learn though.
If a post of mine were deleted without a word, it would feel like a personal affront. I think I would be hurt and angry. I'm sorry this happened to you.
I think the world is tense and edgy right now, and we all need to take a moment to breathe and try to be a little more understanding and forgiving of one another.
Though I didn't see your post, this is a reminder to me that I myself should try to be better with patience and explanations, and hopefully you will find yourself able to forgive and continue participating in the forums. I'm very glad that you're willing to continue your language learning; when all is said and done that's what this site is about.
Lrtward, as a Moderator, (all hail to thee, etc) would it be possible to help me obtain help from Duo? I cannot continue my French course as I am still stuck at "Education" when the word l'eleve sticks; I do want to finish the course, and am becoming so depressed. No-one listens.
Lost my reply to you also; I am not fast enough. Thanks for your help. I have written with and without accents...it made no difference!

Yep, I didn't say it would have made one for this bug. i was just making the remark/correction. ;)
Back to your issue, the team of volunteers of the course "French from English" just corrected the issue on their side. So it should be "ok" o your side in the next hours.
Just tried after Danmoller asked me to test it, but still doesn't work, with or without accents!
Haha! "all hail to thee, etc."
Clever idea, posting in an old abandoned discussion while we're in the "dark ages" after the removal of the activity stream and awaiting the arrival of whatever new tools staff are cooking up.
I unfortunately don't have any magic way to contact staff. I can send bug reports etc. just like you.
Have you tried using a different browser?
Trying to do the lesson from a mobile app?
Lost the reply! Gave you a lingot as thanks, anyway! Am useless with technical stuff.
Perhaps the staff felt that the post somehow violated the Duolingo guidelines. The situation in Turkey is very tense right now, and Duo is an international community, so there are bound to be a variety of different perspectives.
For sure, but in any case a quick/short message left on user's stream by the mod or staff member who deleted it, at least saying it has been deleted (or, better, explaining why, here even just "too sensitive/political at the moment" if it was the reason for the deletion) would be a good thing, IMO.
It happens a lot on here. Despite claims of guidelines and them being followed strictly some people never get a chance to post anything no matter how relevant while others are given days, even weeks to violate them.
